Norfolk FFA has three members who have qualified for the National FFA Agriscience Fair. According to FFA, "The National FFA Agriscience Fair recognizes students who gain real-world, hands-on experiences in agricultural enterprises. Students use scientific principles and emerging technologies to solve complex problems related to agriculture, food, and natural resources." Agriscience participants present their findings to a panel of judges with a display and a report.
Norfolk Senior High graduates Ashlynn Millikan and Alivia Gubbles' experiment was on the effect of different catalysts on the production of biodiesel. Norfolk Senior High senior Cole Ransen's experiment was on the effect of the addition of waste sawdust on concrete slump tests. These students won their respective state competitions in March.
Ashlynn, Alivia and Cole will participate in the National FFA AgriScience Fair in Indianapolis in November.
Norfolk FFA sponsor is agriculture teacher, Jonathan Anderson.
Congratulations and good luck!
