NPS Selects New Theater and Speech Coaches

Norfolk Public Schools is pleased to announce that Austin Casselberry and Nina Buck have been selected for the roles of Head Speech and Theater Coach starting the next school year.

“It is an honor to serve as Norfolk Public School's head speech coach. I am inheriting a well developed program from the previous coaches, and I look forward to stepping into this role and contributing to Norfolk's consistent production of top-performing speech competitors. I competed in speech at Columbus Lakeview High School and have judged across the state for the past 8 years. Speech was transformative for me during my time in High School, and I am confident it will be for all the courageous Panthers who join our team. Public speaking is a rewarding skill, but when it is mastered it can really be a superpower. Go Panthers!,” expressed Austin Casselberry.

“We are very honored to have Austin take over our speech program. He has done a lot of great things in our school system and I know he will work hard and be dedicated to continue to develop our speech program,” said NHS Activities Director John Erwin.

“Norfolk High School has an amazing theater program with a really dedicated team of students, families, teachers and coaches. I am so excited to be joining the team as Theater Director! I've been teaching theater at Wayne State College for the past five years and recently devised a wacky show called "Benny Builds A Contraption" with my Children's Theater Class. I am absolutely thrilled to see what we can cook up at Norfolk High School! I think we're going to have a lot of fun-- and make some beautiful work along the way! Can't wait!,” shared Nina Buck.

“Nina joins our theater department with a great deal of energy and excitement. I think she will be a great addition to our staff and theater department. I know she has the desire to continue to build on an already tremendous theater program at NHS,” said NHS Activities Director John Erwin.
