On 3/10/2020, Norfolk Public Schools hosted a day of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) learning called Project Problem Solve. This day was designed for all 3rd graders at NPS to participate in during the school day with an evening event, 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. that was open to the public. The funding was provided by a grant from the Big Red Keno Math and Science Grant program. On 3/10, stations were set up inside the Montessori gym that provided different learning opportunities for students. These stations were designed and implemented by Junior High and High School teachers and their students with a goal to teach STEM concepts. This was our 5th year partnering with Big Red Keno to offer this day of learning. Some activities in the past have included experiments with light refraction, robotics, simple woodworking, and air pressure. This year's activities included invisible ink, creating vinyl stickers, animal cell models and more.
