Little Panthers Preschool is excited to welcome 215 of our youngest Panthers when it opens its doors for the first day of school on August 22, 2019.
The newly renovated facility, located at 2500 W. Norfolk Avenue, is the home of a comprehensive early childhood learning facility eager to serve Norfolk students. Little Panthers Preschool is part of the Norfolk Public Schools system and is a full-service facility with bright welcoming classrooms, a gym, food service, outdoor playground, and sensory room. The program is a collaborative effort with the Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership (NENCAP)/Head Start and offers developmentally appropriate learning and play opportunities for all 3 and 4 year old preschool children, regardless of ability or income.
Our comprehensive staff includes:
- State of Nebraska certified preschool and special education teachers
- Speech & Language Pathologists
- Occupational Therapist
- Physical Therapist
- Nurse Technician
- Family Service Coordinators
- Sixpence Family Facilitators (serving birth to age 3)
- Full-time Principal
- Support Staff
The addition of Little Panthers Preschool to the school district is a direct result of a community need that exists for affordable quality early childhood education services. This need was highlighted in the school district’s strategic planning sessions with educators, parents, students, and community members. One of three strategic planning goals, adopted by the NPS Board of Education in March 2018, reads: By Fall 2023, NPS will, through research-based program development and community collaboration, assure all children entering kindergarten have had opportunities for early childhood experiences that enable them to transition successfully to kindergarten.
Norfolk Public Schools, in connection with the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting a Ribbon Cutting Open House on September 11, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in the preschool gym. Please join us for this celebration that includes refreshments and building tours.
