“Pawsitive Panthers” is the motto at Little Panthers Preschool as staff and students are learning the importance of the Pyramid Model. This model is based on promoting social emotional competence in children from a very young age. LPP is a member of Cohort 3 of the Pyramid Project provided by the Nebraska Department of Education and has been receiving coaching regarding best practice. The preschool staff has received training on module components including creating engaging environments, reinforcing positive expectations, and creating individual interventions when additional targeted emotional supports are needed. At the Norfolk Public Schools Board of Education meeting on April 8th, Little Panthers Preschool students shared information about our program expectations, rules, friendship skills, and calming strategies.
