Mr. Pink Panther Takes Norfolk High By Storm

Article by Alexia Cardamone

With school starting back up again NHS has been busier than ever with Winter Royalty, new classes, and winter sports wrapping up their seasons. One of our schools favorite events this time of year is Mr.Pink Panther. This event is held by the Pink Panthers and their sponsor Lori Voss. Each of the girls gets to pick one boy that they know and have him compete to become the title of “Mr.Pink Panther”. The competition is basically a giant pageant for the boys. They model evening wear, perform a talent of their choice, then get interviewed by the judges. The boys and Pink Panthers also perform a halftime dance at a boys and girls home varsity game.

The Pink Panthers take this event very seriously while still having fun, some of the girls hold practices for their boys so they can get their talent just right. The boy's talents vary from dancing, to stand up comedy, to singing. They are also able to perform as a group or in partners with other boys running for “Mr.Pink Panther”. This event isn’t just for laughs though, when you enter the Pink Panthers also ask that you bring a canned food item to donate to the Salvation Army. When going to “Mr.Pink Panther” not only will you walk away with abs of steel from laughing so hard but you also give back to the community.
