Administrators

Hello and welcome to "Staff Three". This is probably to most robust solution and would be the best for a buillding with a BUNCH of staff.

As you can see, even though you clicked on the "Staff" link.. you are transported to the "Adminsistrators" page. This is because once again... yup.. that's right.. you guessed it.. we have the main staff page setup as a "Weblink" and we have the weblink set to 466, to shuttle users to the first page of this staffing group.

This operates a little different again but has the ability to group such things like teachers on a single page of teachers and yet NOT have the page go on for ever.

Here's how.

Each group "Administrators, Office Staff" etc, this time uses a standard "Inside Page Template", they are set to show in the menu, so users can get to everything. But now, on these category pages instead of simply listing out all the staff members below just the way they are in the resource tree the system will look at the staff title used in each staff member page and group where the value is the same.

Check this out for example (should open in a new window)

Scroll down on the page and find "Assistant Pricipal".. you should see a "+" sign to the right, by clicking on this you can open it to see all the staff members, under the "Admins" container resource where they had the exact same job title entered in the template variables > Staff data > Staff Title area. It is set at two, any more than two staff members and the system will groups them into an accordian.

Ohhh and by the way, when it comes to teachers the system will check to see if the completed title is the same, so "7nd Grade" + "Social Studies" in a member is different from only "7th Grade" specified. This also works with the type in title area, so you can specify what ever title you like but this has draw backs. When you use the drop downs to select the grade and subject you are using values that are the same accross the site and are controlled by the system. If you type them in yourself it becomes possible for you to type in "Math" on one staff member and "Math Teacher" on another when they should be the same, which would put them in seperate expandy groups. No beuno.

Also I should mention that the member highest in the resource tree sets where the group will be shown on the page, so for instance, if you had a teacher group, and you had (in your resource tree) a Spanish teacher, and then two English teachers, and then a French teacher and another Spanish teacher..  the groupings on the page would be all the Spanish teachers, all the English, and then all the French.. because the first Spanish teacher started the Spanish group before the other groups were started.
