Underwater Hippos
In Art, second graders began the year by viewing images of the hippopotamus in their natural habitat I asked the students to share what they knew about the animals. Where do they live in the wild? Does the hippo live on land , in the water or both? What words can we use to describe the hippo? These questions and more were explored in this lesson. For the art production , students expressed their creativity by making their own hippo, cooling off in the water.
