The students in Miss Cronin’s class at Grant Elementary have been very busy during their first week as second graders. We have spent a lot of time getting to know our new classmates. A few of our favorite activities have been built around the game Guess Who?. To start off, we had good conversations about identifying different characteristics to describe the characters in some of our stories. Then, we used those characteristics to practice describing each other. Once we had an understanding of characteristics, we played a few games of human Guess Who? and the original Guess Who? board game, which we thought was so much fun! After we knew all about characteristics, we used our personal ones to recreate ourselves with chalk and construction paper. Our final activity was writing five sentences about ourselves with our special characteristics. Now the people who walk the halls of Grant get to ‘Guess Who?’ the sentences are describing. It has been SO. MUCH. FUN! We cannot wait to spend our school year together!
