First Graders Decorate Goody Bags

Grant Elementary First Graders in Mrs. Baker's and Mrs. Morgan's classes were busy decorating sacks for the Morning Optimist Club to fill with goodies that go to children connected to the Salvation Army. Each Grant family and staff member will receive the same book, Mr. Popper's Penguins to read a chapter nightly at home in January. Parent information including family literacy and book activities such as daily trivia about the book will all help create a "community of readers".
