NHS Cheerleaders of 2019-2020

With the year in full swing, there’s a group of students who commit to an activity all year round, our cheerleaders. You see them at volleyball, football, and basketball games, but that’s not all these ladies do. Among cheering on their peers, they are also the ones who organize the homecoming dance every year and who make many of the signs we have hanging in our school. This year's captains are senior Arin Bach and early graduating junior, Jasmine Farrell. I spoke with one of the captains about this year's team to get a better look into what these girls do. When asked what the best part about being on the cheer team, Bach said that it’s the girls and their motivation that make it really enjoyable. Their prep before a game consists of stretching together and assigning formations for the game, and for pregame. One of the things captain Arin Bach has worked on to become a better cheerleader, is her leadership skills. Stating that while it can be difficult to not let things get to you in a leadership position, you have to maintain good leadership behavior. A word of advice she’d give to future cheerleaders, is to keep up with their efforts and to keep working hard!
