Veterans Day Assembly

The Norfolk Senior High School Veterans Day assembly was held on Monday, November 12th at 10:30 to honor and thank the past and present Veterans in our Community and our Nation.

The Color Guard presented the flags as all attendees in the gym stood silently, showing their respect.

The Senior High Band and Choir beautifully played and sang a medley of familiar patriotic songs.  The band, of course, played the Star Spangled Banner as everyone in the gym stood at attention.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited as well.

Senior High Principal Mr. Ippensen opened up the assembly with a respective "Thank You" to all who were in attendance and then introduced Veteran Roger Casselman, Commander of the VFW Post 1644.  Mr. Casselman spoke briefly before he introduced the Assembly's Keynote Speaker, Norfolk Public Schools' very own Mr. Micheal Hart.

Mr. Hart is a man who is passionate about education and passionate about our country.  His speech was a testament to his passion of these two things.

We, at NHS, would like to thank Mr. Casselman, Mr. Hart, Veterans on staff, the Veterans who visited today, and all other Veterans past and present in our community and our nation for their service.  Your sacrifices and efforts to this great nation will forever be remembered.
