News From Mrs. Vanness’ Classroom
What a busy December we had in our classroom! We had a great December, lots of learning and lots of fun. The holiday season always seems to put a smile on the childrens’ faces. Some of the language concepts we have been working on are: blends, magic e work, parts of speech, main idea, fact and opinion, context clues, compounds, contractions, and ABC order just to name a few. In math, students have been working on addition and subtraction, subtraction with borrowing, greater than/less than, telling time, counting money, fractions, problem solving, and place value. As mentioned before, these are just a few of the lessons that are being learned on our work plans. Our winter concert kept us busy, and the staff at Montessori were so proud of how amazing they were the night of the show. Great job students and Mrs. Hirschman! During the last few days of school, I asked the students “What do you think Mrs. Hausmann would like for Christmas this year?” Below are the answers and they are pretty accurate, enjoy reading these gems!
