Grant Elementary School had a BIG surprise - a special assembly with US92 and News Channel Nebraska broadcasting live from our school gym. Students were not expecting an assembly on Friday morning, but all students walked into the gym to find many members of our community waiting to greet them.
The exciting news that was broadcasted live in our school assembly was that Grant Elementary was the recipient of the UnitedHealthCare Small Towns Matter Award. With this recognition, all students at Grant Elementary were presented with brand new bike helmets. The importance of keeping our brain safe, while staying healthy was shared with the students. The school also received a check for $2,500. The staff and students will get to decide how to use the money to benefit more learning at Grant Elementary.
