Mrs. Morgan's and Mrs. Baker' first graders at Grant Elementary have been studying maps as part of our Wonders Reading program. The class decided to visit the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce. On our route, we discussed directions, street names, and the best way to get to our destination.
Jenni Canham, at the Chamber, gave us a wonderful tour of the building and explained how different people helped to make it run smoothly. She also shared how she uses Mapquest to find her way around to Norfolk businesses.
The students each received a goody bag that contained a great map of Norfolk. The students had so much fun exploring the map upon our return to school.
