Setting goals is an important part of life. It helps us have something in mind that we would like to reach or accomplish. Sometimes, we set small goals for ourselves, and other times, we set larger goals that we may think almost impossible to achieve. As we set personal goals for ourselves, it is important for us to set goals for our children as well. Some goals may be as simple as learning to count to ten, and others may be a bit more difficult, such as learning the multiplication table. Whatever goals we would like to see our children reach, it is important for our children to be involved in their goal
setting as well. We must also act as cheerleaders for our children, encouraging them along the way, letting them know that we support them, love them, and care about their success, and will still support them if they falter. If they see and feel that we are right behind them supporting them, they may work even harder to reach the goals we have set for them, and will strive even harder to set and reach their own goals. Another big part of setting goals is realizing that we may have some difficulty at first, but to never, ever give up. Please continue to encourage your children to do their best, and let them know you'll still support them, even if the road to success is a rocky one.
