The Norfolk Public Schools Foundation has activated the dual credit scholarship application link for the 2020-2021 school year. The deadline for student applications is July 15, 2020. This timeline is VERY DIFFERENT than it has been in the past.
Previously, students would complete the scholarship application during the first 2 weeks of the fall semester (after school was in session). Due to some changes being made at NECC with payment due dates, the Foundation felt that students needed to know earlier if they would receive the scholarship. This earlier scholarship notification will enable families to make an educated decision regarding dual credit enrollment prior to the NECC payment deadline. Students should apply based on the courses they requested to take next school year when they completed registration during the spring 2020 semester.
Also, another change is that the dual credit scholarship application will not be offered in January 2021. Students should list all courses requested for the entire school year on this summer application due July 15, 2020. It has always been the procedure of the NPSF dual credit fall scholarship application to encourage students to apply for all courses for the full school year, but previously the Foundation would offer a second opportunity for spring courses with a second scholarship application cycle in January. The second opportunity in January is being eliminated due to the high volume of applications received each fall.
