Investing in Students

We celebrate the gifts given by donors who want to create opportunities for students. Our donors include alumni, parents, community members, businesses, private foundations, retired teachers, and current NPS staff members who have all embraced the work of the Foundation. The NPS Foundation makes investing in students our priority through Scholarships, the Middle School Makerspace, STEM Carts, the Panther Pantry, and much more. We invest in success!

What We Do

Classroom Grants

Classroom grants are intended to fund awesome educational projects that traditional school funding cannot support. Each spring, the Foundation encourages NPS staff to apply for a grant and give us their best ideas for a project to enhance learning for students in any classroom throughout the district.

$25,015 in classroom grants in 2024!

Graduate Scholarships

Dozens of traditional scholarships are offered annually to the graduating class of Norfolk Senior High.

$73,700 in traditional scholarships awarded to the Class of 2024!

Designated Donations

Designated gifts support specific projects, classrooms, or school buildings as designated by the donor. Some examples include funding provided for the Career Academies, FFA, Speech and Debate, Aftershock, STEM enhancements, musical instruments, the Panther Partner Program, Panther Packs, and many more.

Over $66,000 in donor gifts to fund the restoration of the historic Norfolk Junior High Auditorium!

Panthers Supporting Panthers Continuing Education Scholarships

In May 2024, the Foundation partnered with Chris and Mickie Mueller to establish a scholarship for teachers within the district who are taking college courses to further their education. The scholarship program is growing, and applications will open again in the spring! 

$2,000 in continuing education scholarships awarded to staff in 2024!

2024 Individual Prize Drawings

Every new participant of the 2024 NPSF Staff Campaign, as well as all those who sustain or increase their gift from last year, will have their names placed in a district-wide drawing to win an individual prize. Thank you to the following generous donors, who provided some excellent prizes!
