Raising Cane's Fundraiser April 2nd 4pm-8pm

We will be having a fundraiser night at Raising Cane's for Westside Elementary on Tuesday, April 2nd, from 4pm until 8pm. The success of this event depends on how excited we can get our community to be involved. Each student has 5 tickets they can hand out to anyone to spread the word.  The kindergarteners at Westside have been learning about what it means to be an engineer. They were able to use those engineering skills to build their own marble runs. The students were challenged to create towers with specific parts and criteria. Through observation, testing, and making changes they were able to meet those goals.

Kindergarten Round Up April 17th

Westside will be having Kindergarten round up on April 17th. There will be two different sessions. One from 9:00am to 10:30am and another one from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. Staff Missing Students and Handing out Packets

The staff at Westside have been working hard to prepare packets for continued learning.  Everyone is missing the students terribly.  We all wish things were back to normal but everyone is doing their best to go on and thrive during this period of adversity. Mrs. Boubin's Class Work on Fractions

Fractions have been the learning target in math for the third graders in Mrs. Boubin’s classroom this week. Students are learning key vocabulary like the denominator which is located below the fraction bar and shows the total number of equal parts. Mrs. Pospisil's Class Deciding Lamb or Lion

The first graders in Mrs. Pospisil’s class have been spending time discussing how the weather will be in March. We started by reading a book called ‘In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb’ by Marion Dane Bauer. Then we categorized types of weather to either a lion (harsh) or a lamb (calm).
