Mrs. Tipton's Kindergarten Class Celebrate Reading

This week in Mrs. Tipton’s classroom we spent time reading and learning about Dr. Seuss. Throughout the week we read several different books written by Dr. Seuss. We also had a few guest readers come in and read to us throughout the week. On Thursday, students from the Norfolk Middle School JOI Club came and read us some awesome Elephant & Piggie books. They used such great expression while they were reading! On Friday, Mrs. Baumann read to us and brought some special treats with her to share with the class. Friday, March 2nd is Read Across America Day (Also known as: Dr. Seuss Day). This day was created by the National Education Association and is held on the school day that is closest to March 2nd, which is Dr. Seuss’s birthday. This day was made to celebrate reading nationwide. On this day, students from all across the country come together to read! Our class was assigned a special Dr. Seuss book this year. Kindergarten was assigned the book “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.” Our students were asked to wear either red or blue on Friday to represent our book. We had such a fun week full of reading and learning!
