Kindergarten News 2021
We are off to a great start in kindergarten. We have been working hard learning all the procedures and rules at school. We have been learning about our 5 senses; sight, taste, smell, touch, and hear by playing games and being good listeners. We have been using our fine motor skills to cut, color and glue while reviewing our eight basic colors; red, green, yellow, orange, blue, black, purple, and brown, through fun activities. In our Envisions math program we are counting, recognizing, and writing numbers. We have been working on procedures for reading as well as learning new sounds and blending them together to make words.
We will be learning all about apple's next week with some fun activities. For Columbus Day, we will be acting out the story of Christopher Columbus as we learn about this special holiday. We are planning to go to Poppy's Pumpkin Patch on October 14 . Things we are looking forward to in November and December are making homemade ice cream and making gifts for family and friends. As the school year goes on we will be working very hard using our new skills to read, and do more math activities. Let’s not forget through this busy time to take time to read, play games, and visit about the school day with your child.
According to the National Sleep Foundation, “,,, kids ages three to eight need 10 to 13 hours of sleep per night.” Our days are very busy filled with learning, listening, and playing, so it is important that we get lots of sleep.
Also, as a reminder: we would prefer you do not send cupcakes for birthday treats. They are messy, time consuming and the kids don’t eat them. Fruit snacks, fish crackers, etc are a better treat. Thanks for all you do to help your child have a successful school year.
