Red Ribbon Week



October 2-7, 2017

  Theme:  Your Future is the KEY so Stay Drug Free

In Guidance lessons on Sept. 25 and Oct. 2, we will talk about making good

     choices and staying drug-free (at developmentally appropriate levels).


Mon., Oct. 2 - Choose (Chews) a Bright Future  -  wear bright colors

A speaker from Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department  will explain the origin and meaning of Red Ribbon Week.  A “chewy” treat, such as Tootsie Roll Minis will be given.

 Tues, Oct. 3“Drug Free is Healthy for Me” wear athletic gear or sweats.   We will take stretch or exercise breaks in classroom and at recess.

 Wed., Oct 4 - “Key in on Good Choices” Panther Packs – 1:00–1:30

               On paper “keys” we will be writing about and drawing pictures of our good choices. 

              We will tie these “keys” onto our chain link fence with red ribbons.

 Thurs, Oct. 5 - You Won’t See Me Using Drugs - wear dark colors or camouflage gear


Fri. Oct. 6 - These "paws" don’t touch drugs -

              wear Panther Gear or Washington shirts


 Sat. Oct. 7 - Red Ribbon RunMr. Long will be promoting this in P.E.


Our objective is forstudents to learn the value of choosing a healthy life style while also having a little fun.
