Automotive Academy


Students in the Automotive Academy will concentrate on the familiarization of parts and theories of operation of the automobile while gaining hands-on experience in a realistic setting.

Upon completion of the academy, students will be able to make proper adjustments and measurements concerning the systems of the automobile including power train, ignition, electrical, brakes, suspension, fuel, and cooling. Included in the troubleshooting will be the use of scan tools and other test equipment. Professionalism and safety will be emphasized in the Automotive Academy.


OSHA 10 hour certification and local NHS basic repair certification developed in partnership with local automotive businesses through the Automotive Advisory Team.

Sophomore: Metals I (recommended course for academy)
Junior: Power and Energy (required intro & intermediate course for academy)
Senior: Auto Technology (required capstone course for academy)
