Kindergarten is off to a great start this 22-23 year. We have spent the first few weeks learning procedures and expectations of our school day. An important part of the school day is implementing “PEACE” education. Maria Montessori was a huge advocate for peace and believed it was an important component to be practiced and present in a child’s environment. We practice peace by walking with body control, talking with kind words, and using quiet and calm voices. During our work times, we will even play peaceful music to help remind us of peaceful actions during school.
On Wednesday, September 21st, we celebrated International Peace Day as a school. Each grade level had a different peace activity to participate in that day. In Kindergarten, we colored a Peace Symbol. They turned out awesome!
