Clayton Carney- I had great memories at my school Montessori. My first memory was from kindergarten. It was at recess when I made my first football catch. I also remember in Mrs. O's class that Ashten and I wrote all the way to one thousand. In third grade, I remember at the fall festival I won a pop at the ring toss. At home I put an ice cube in it, and the pop bubbled all over and made a mess on the floor. Finally, this year I remember going on a field trip to Madison, and I got to hold a huge snake.
Skylar Ellenberger- I will never forget the good memories I had at Montessori . I remember in kindergarten when we all raised caterpillars, and when they were fully grown butterflies, we let them go. That was probably my favorite memory I had in kindergarten. I also remember in 4th grade we went to the zoo and we went into the rainforest. We went across the bridge. It was really wet and gooey . It was probably because we were right by a waterfall. I also remember in second
grade at the end of the year we would have field day and I remember playing capture the magic football. That is my favorite game in the whole entire world. I also remember in first grade we went to a play called "Skippy Jon Jones". It was really funny. I also remember in 3rd grade we went to Morrill Hall and we smelled these little samples and one of the samples smelled like a skunk- Peeyu. I will never forget the memories I had at Montessori.
Audrey Empkey-Montessori School is where I went to school for five years. They were the best five years of my life. I made a ton of memories here that I'll never forget. In third grade, we had an AR party where everyone brought blankets and pillows. We got to lay on the floor and read most of the day! That was the best AR party ever! My fondest memory in first and second grade was when Kayden Koepke brought chicks to class from his farm. They were adorable! In kindergarten, I remember when I would sit by my older brother and his friends for the first few weeks of school until I started sitting by my friends. Finally, in fourth grade, I will never forget the day when I brought Little Debbie strawberry rolls for my tenth birthday in March. I gave a treat to Mrs. Shoemaker, and she said "Only six more years until you can drive!" The five years I spent at Montessori flew by so quickly!
Ashten Hader- These are some memories I remember from Lincoln Montessori School. In kindergarte , I remember when our class went to Poppy's Pumpkin Patch, I forgot my water bottle and I was really thirsty that day!!! A memory from 1st grade is when I got into challenge!!! I was so excited for my first challenge class. My best memory from 2nd grade was when our class went to "Life On The Farm." Our class saw a giant horse that was their for it's last year. I also got picked to pull a mule in a race against Audrey. All the boys cheered for me while all the girls cheered for Audrey. My mule was stubborn, but I managed to win the race. I congratulated Audrey after the race. My best memory from 3rd grade is when our class went to the Nebraska Husker Football Stadium!!! We all tried to touch the lucky Nebraska Horseshoe. We all tried to jump and touch it, but nobody touched it. I was only 2 inches away. I also remember we ran the whole football field twice. In 4th grade I have so many memories, but I'm only going to share two of them. My first memory is when the challenge class went to South Dakota for a field trip. We went to two museums. We also went to the Dakota Dome. It has a basketball court ,football field, and a track field. My second memory is when I went to the triplets birthday party (Drew,Dawson, and Macy). We went bowling at Bob's Bowling in Tilden. I had fun even though I didn't bowl a strike. These were some of my best memories from Lincoln Montessori School.
Dawson Hansen- I've had a lot of memories in these five years, but I'll tell you my favorite memories. MY first special memory was when I once touched a baby chick. Kayden brought them in Kindergarten. They were so cute!!! In first grade and second grade one of my favorite memories was when I had applesauce. It was delicious!!! WE even got to help make it. In third grade I remember a very special memory. It was when I went to the Memorial Stadium!!! I saw some Nebraska football players!!! We even got to go on the football field. In fourth grade I've had a lot of memories. Probably my favorite memory was when my class talked to a class from Canada. We got to talk about our town Norfolk and they talked about their town. I've had a lot of fun times, but some bad times at Montessori!!!
Drew Hansen-I have loved all five of the years I've been at Montessori School . A special memory I had in kindergarten was when I went to Poppy's Pumpkin Patch. There at Poppy's we went on a train ride that was super long . A special memory I had in first grade was when we did block, Mrs. O's class would come over and have block with us .Sometimes I had fun doing blocK. In second grade we went to a place called "Life on a Farm." There we got to see animals. I saw my next door neighbor. In third grade, I remember a special memory when my class went to Lincoln to the Memorial Stadium. I got to see a football player running in the pool in the workout zone. This year in fourth grade I liked all the experiments we did . Right now we are going to have all the third graders from the district come to our school for a science presentation. Also there are going to be junior high and high school students there to do activities for the third graders . I have loved all the memories I had at Montessori .
Macy Hansen- These are my memories I have from Montessori .... I remember when I was in kindergarten and I learned to do math and spelling. I wasn't very good at it, but I found it fun and had a great time. I'm glad I learned because you will want to know how to do it when you grow up. In first grade I remember when we went to a play called "Junie B Jones". I loved it! I love reading Junie B Jones books too! In second grade I remember when we went to Life On The Farm. I loved it when, we got to see cute baby animals and other stuff like that. Then in third grade I remember when I got my first chance to go down to the kindergarten room to help. I wish I could of helped down there first grade through fourth grade, but anyway I really enjoyed the kindergarten room. Now that I'm in fourth grade, I have so many memories. To begin with, I remember when we made rock -candy. It was so much fun. I also really remember when our class went to the zoo. And we had to pick an animal. We also saw cute baby animals like in second grade. Right now we are working on a science presentation for the third graders around the district and they are coming to our school. Right now that is my fondest memory. I have so many memories! I don't want to leave, but I am so excited to go to Elkhorn Valley Schools in Tilden next year.
Myranda Hansen-Here at Montessori, memories practically grow. Here are some of my memories. One memory I have from kindergarten is when I got chosen to take the challenge test. Mrs. Casey came in and took Audrey and I when we were having guidance. I was scared I was going to do bad,, but I did good and got in. One memory I have from first grade is that Mrs. Olenich had separate math groups. One time my group was being loud so all of us had to write a journal on how we were acting. A memory I have from second grade is having block with Mrs. Olenich. We did DLAs, and if we got them all right she would give us stickers. A memory from third grade I have is during AR time if we were being quiet Mrs. Shoemaker would give us candy. A memory I have in fourth grade is when my dad came to talk to our class. He came and talked to us about farming. Another one is when our class got to talk with a school from Canada and another from California. All the years I have been here have been magical, I never want to leave this wonderful school!
Josslyn Hubbard-Thomas- These are some memories from Lincoln Montessori, the five years of my elementary school life! A sweet memory from kindergarten is that Mrs. Marsden's children came for a visit. It was two boys and a girl. We also had Free-time Friday . That was the best! I remember in fantastic first grade that we finally got lockers, and I was so joyous. We also had buddies around the class, and we helped each other. Mainly my second grade partner helped me the most.... This second grade memory reminds me of all my old friends. Peyton, Kaydyn, Joseph, and Zoe who all left school to go to a different school. I remember in third grade that we made Christmas ornaments for our parents. It was a white handprint and we made the snowman out of the fingers. I remember in fourth grade that we went to Mrs. O's room to listen to the mayor read a book. Her name was Mayor Sue. I have a ton of memories to share, but that would be LONG!
Carter Jackson-Montessori School was the school I was in most so far. I have a lot of memories. I remember in third we went on a field trip to Lincoln. I liked the football part the most, but I wish there were some soccer stuff too. Also we got to run around on the football field. A little before that in the year was when we got buddies! I liked buddies a lot I got to help all the little kids,I was so proud of myself! I remember in kindergarten how Kayden had a show and tell and brought baby chicks. They were really cute! I remember in second when Mrs .O had her daughter's friend,, Miss Nebraska, come speak to us! It was so exciting! I remember a lot of things in fourth, but the thing I remember most was coming back to my friends at the beginning of the year, because I had this cyst at the end of third grade, so I had to leave early that year. I waited a loooooong time to see all of my friends.. That's not really all I remember from this schoo,l but I can't explain everything so i'm going to wait till I get new ones from middle school!
Preston Linde- I have some awesome memories in the five years I have been at Lincoln Montessori. I remember the time we went to the Poppy's Pumpkin Patch in kindergarten and my mom was the guest that led my group. She took us almost all the way around the park. I also remember that we had to wear real shoes because of the sanburs that are everywhere and when we got back to school I had to pull sanburs out of my skin. I had scabs everywhere and my mom asked what happened to you and I said that I got sandburs all over my legs. I also remember the time in first grade when we got a third recess and every time we got the third recess we played "Mr. Shark" which is a game where you have to have a shark and the person who is the shark has to tag the other people and then they help get the rest. I always got caught, but I was never the first person to get caught. A third grade memory that I have is when we had our kindergarten buddies and when I got done with my contract work really early, I got to help Mrs.Marsden with the kindergarteners and I helped until they went to the gym for lunch. I also remember the time in fourth grade when we made the crystal gardens that were awesome. We started them off by putting coal into a container and then we put water in the container. After that we put in salt and after that we put in ammonia and nobody wanted to touch it because it smelled really bad. Next it started to grow. The second day it didn't actually grow much but there were little specks of crystals coming up on the coal. On the third day it grew a lot but some of them still had only little specks. BY the fourth day I was sick so I didn't get to see how much it grew, but the next day I came and the crystals were huge. I wish I could stay at Montessoi longer, but I am looking forward to Middle School.
Cole Nathan-I had a blast at Montessori and these are some memories that I remember from my time at Lincoln Montessori School. In kindergarten we went Poppy's Pumpkin Patch and my dad was our guest parent. We went the whole entire place even though we did not, it seemed like it! In fourth grade the kids on the block came to our school. I really enjoyed the puppet show for us. It was great. In first grade I just couldn't wait to see who my teacher was going to be. My third grade memory was when we went to Lincoln. I learned new stuff and I loved when we went to Lincoln and back in the bus. And finally my second grade memory I remember the first time I went to the fall festival. I remember the first time I got that strike for the first time! Good times. I hope I can visit this school again. But I probably can't. THIS IS MY FAVORITE SCHOOL!!!!!!!!! Yet.
Kamile Oligmueller- My five years at Lincoln Montessori have been so incredible. Here are some memories that I will never forgot!! In third grade I remember the day when Mrsm.Shoemaker, my teacher, told me that I got in to Challenge. I loved the moment in fourth grade when Ashten was fast walking to go check out a paper crane, he fell with laughter, and we all started laughing!! I was especially filled with wonderment, in kindergarten, when I got to have fun with my friends and buddies. I always enjoyed buddy days! My special memory in first grade was when I had super easy spelling words each and every Friday. Last but not least, in second grade I remember the moment knowing that I would finally get a new teacher after two years with Mrs.Vanness in first and second grade. Even though she was a great teacher, I was ready for a new teacher.. Each day here has been a blast. I will be happy to graduate, but will miss my elementary school. I can't thank everyone enough for being a friend to me. I'm excited to meet more amazing people, just like you guys at the Middle School! Again thank you all so much (staff and students) for an amazing journey here at Lincoln Montessori! MY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IS THE BEST!!
Amelia Pinkelman-I'm in fourth grade and it's the end of the year. Next year I'll be in fifth grade at the Middle school. I wish I could stay one more year here at Montessori! I really do, but I have to move on with my life. I remember the time when I was in kindergarten my friends and I were playing choo-choo train ( Choo-Choo Train is basically like Follow the Leader but it's called Choo-Choo Train ) and I Was the leader. Josslyn was behind me and Carter J. was behind Josslyn. It was so much fun. In first grade we had second grade buddies that helped us with everything. Well almost everything. Now in second grade we were the buddies to the first graders, but we went to the apple orchard and we brought back apples to share with our buddies and let me tell you one thing . . . THEY WERE SO GOOD they were so juicy too . In third grade we went to Lincoln it was really fun. In fourth grade we went to the zoo. We saw so many animals. We saw so many fish too. I had a great time here at Montessori.
Carter Ramaekers- I remember in kindergarten we would have nap time on these mats that were so comfortable that I almost slept the whole time, But then, our teacher had to turn on the lights and a lot of my classmates were sleeping when she turned on the lights and we had to shake them to wake up. In first grade, I remember that my friends and I were playing soccer on the school field and the soccer ball was flying through the air and CLUNK! I got hit in the head with the soccer ball and right when me and the soccer ball collided, I went down and had to go to the nurse's office. When I was in second grade, We went to the apple orchard and we got to pick like 20 apples and 19 of them we put them into a bag and the last one we got to take home with us. I loved the memory in 3rd grade when we went to the museum, The capital, and the football stadium in Lincoln. It was such a blast! The fourth grade memory was so extraordinary because, we had a orchestra concert with the high schoolers and when they were done with their songs (which were really good), we had to perform our songs (which were almost better than the high schoolers) and when it was done the audience clapped like crazy. Our orchestra teacher loved it and the next practice we had, she gave us suckers. I loved those five years!
Jenna Snitchler- I spent five years in Montessori. I have a lot of memories there since I have been there for five years. In kindergarten my mom cut my bangs and my teacher thought that I got a hold of the scissors and cut my own bangs. We also went to an apple orchard. A special memory in 1 and 2 grade was when we went to a play called "Skippy John Joan". It was super funny. In second grade we went to Life On The Farm. I got some wool. In 3 grade we read a book called "No Talking". On one Friday we could only say 3 words. We had to carry a clipboard and pencil around all day. We couldn't talk at recess or lunch, but everyone said way more then 3 words. We also had a pizza party. In fourth grade a special memory is when I forgot my backpack and I screamed MOMMY! I ran after her and luckily there was a stop sign. She saw me running to her and she rolled down the window and said, " I heard you screaming." I said, " I forgot my backpack in your car." She gave me my backpack and I went back in line outside.
Peyton Vietor- I will tell you some of my grade school memories before I go to the Middle School. A go to memory was in kindergarten when I first met Kayden Koepke. He was showing a show and tell with his grandma's baby chicks. His grandma's black chick was really naughty. An awesome first grade memory was when we all went to a play called "Skippy John Jones" . It was about this cat that wanted to be a dog. An unforgettable second grade memory was when Kayden Koepke moved to South Carolina, and it was a really hard time for me. Kayden, so far, is the only friend that moved to another state. A third grade memory was when the fourth graders played orchestra for us to tried and coax us to play orchestra. They sounded really good and I later joined in orchesta. A fourth grade memory was when our fourth grade watched these people called "The Kids On The Block" that came and told us to always be friendly to other people and it doesn't matter where you live you're always you're part of your heritage. The whole show was about this Korean kid who doesn't want his friends to know he's Korean. He wants to be American at school, and at home he wants to be a Korean. These are some grade school memories and I'm sure I'll make a lot of new ones at the Middle School with a whole bunch of new friends that are from all of the grade schools! I never want to leave this school because of all of my memories!
