Mrs. Jones' 1st and 2nd grade News
My class is off to a wonderful start this school year! I have 12 second graders and 11 first graders. Over the past couple of weeks, we have been busy learning school and classroom procedures and getting back into strong work-time routines.
I asked the students, “What would you like to learn or do this school year?” Here are their responses:
Abel – explore science experiments
Alexis – add more science work to her work plan and have another music concert
Atreus – learn how to add with big numbers
Beckett – use geometry shapes and have a fun class party in the gym
Benson – learn how to divide and go to a museum on a field trip
Carson – add science activities to his work plan
Charlie – paint pumpkins and go on a field trip
Daphne – learn division and do science experiments
Ella – do science experiments and have science work on her work plan
Ember – have another Science Day and practice adding with big numbers
Kaylee – learn division and have another Science Day
Kenzie – practice bigger subtraction problems and go on a fun field trip
Landry – do science experiments and paint pumpkins
Levi – do lots of math work and plant flowers
Lily – practice multiplication and have another Science Day
Macy – have another Science Day and use Bead Stamps for math work
Maddox – do science experiments
Ovin – do science experiments
Pierson – qualify for our school’s HAL program
Reese – do science experiments and learn division
Rowan – take a class trip to the park and be ready to read chapter books
Sawyer – go to the park and use the Box of Sticks for math work
Sophie – learn multiplication and take a field trip to the zoo or a farm
We have some exciting goals for the year, and I can already tell it’s going to be an amazing one!
