Second Graders at Grant Elementary have learned about animals! They recently took a field trip to the Henry Doorly Zoo! For many students, this was their first visit to the zoo. On Wednesday, April 17th, the 4th graders traveled to Lincoln for their field trip. They explored Morrill Hall, ran out onto Memorial Field, and toured the capitol. ELL students at Grant Elementary are participating in an “Embryology Unit” through the Nebraska Extension in Madison County 4-H School Enrichment Program. Taking care of the incubator, candling the eggs, and watching the chicks hatch are some highlights of this unit. We are having an “egg-ceptional” time learning about the life cycle of chickens!

The 3rd Graders at Grant Elementary had a wonderful time packaging food for Mercy Meals.  On February 6 both classes worked together to package 12 boxes of food. We packaged food for 2,592 people in other countries that are hungry.  We had wonderful volunteers helping us out - Mrs. Moreno, Mrs. Currey, and Mrs. Uzzel. Thank you!
