Grant 2nd graders have been busy learning about all things ANIMAL! What started out as a study of farm animals quickly transformed into a study of all animals. In science, students have been learning about the six classifications of animals. For writing, students each selected their own favorite zoo animal that they wanted to research. They have gathered facts about their appearance, habitat, diet, and behaviors. Now, they are in the process of writing and illustrating their very own non-fiction book about the animal of their choice. To celebrate their hard work and bring the learning to life, we recently went on a field trip to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo! The kids had the best time looking at all the different animals and learning even more about each one. Some of the most popular were the sea lions, giraffes, and alligators! The aquarium was also visited over and over and a favorite of many students. It was a wonderful experience for all!
