Mrs. Morgan's Class is Thankful for NPS Foundation Grant!

Mrs. Morgan’s First Graders have been busy using our reading skills to learn more about science.  Through the help of a Norfolk Public Schools Foundation Grant, our class has been able to use new hands on supplies to help us learn together.

The First graders learned about how our bodies move. They were able to put together a life size skeleton and  use Boogie Boards to label the bones.  The class also used a stethoscope to listen to their partners breathing and heart beats.

The students have also learned about how animals’ bodies help them.  They were able to use animal specimens such as beaver, hippopotamus, and crocodile teeth, bat x-rays, a bear claw,  bobcat tracks, an iguana skull and a turtle shell to see up close how these parts help an animal.

We are so fortunate to have the NPSF grants to make learning in our classroom so engaging.
