Second grade students celebrated the 100th day of school on Thursday, January 21st. The day focused on many learning activities centered around the number 100! Teachers read books about the 100th day. Students flipped coins heads or tails 100 times! Students rolled to 100, trying to see how many times it would take to roll the dice to 100. Students wrote their numbers to 100! Students were busy doing various exercises for 100 seconds! Students even did the challenge of stacking 100 cups!
The 100th day goes by so very fast, students have fun doing math to 100. They don't realize Math can be so much fun, especially on the 100th day of school!
Second graders have also been busy enhancing their writing skills! After listening to all of the Snowmen at Night stories, students wrote about what their snowman might do if it came to life. Here are some of the wonderful examples! We are looking forward to sharing some of our great writing at Parent Teacher Conferences in February! Check out some of our pictures in the Gallery.
This is what my snowman would do at night.
To begin, my snowman would ride a horse. She will go to the farm and learn how to ride a horse. She will go to the farm and train the horses how to act.
To end, my snowman would go biking. She will go to the park and learn how to ride. Then she will go do flips.
All in all, this is what my snowman would do at night!

If my snowman came alive at night it would do two exciting activities.
First, my snowman will sew. She will sew some socks and give them to her kids. She would sew a pair of gloves and then she would go outside to play in the white, pretty snow.
Next, my snowman will adopt a kitten. She will feed him milk from a bottle. The kitten would be orange, white, and cute!
In conclusion, these are two activities my snowman would do at night.

Brrr! It's cold out! My snowman does two crazy things at night.
First, I think my snowman played hockey. I found skates, pucks, and goals. I also saw a scoreboard. It said six to eight.
Next, I think my snowman chased a chicken. I saw a chick leg in his hand. And I saw feathers all over the ground.
Those are the two crazy things my snowman does at night. What does yours do at night?

This is what my snowman would do at night.
To begin, my snowman would play soccer. He kicks the ball and he scored. They tackled each other.
Next, my snowman would play snow football. He tackled another snowman from the other team and his carrot nose fell off! Yikes!!
