Dear Families,
We are excited about third grade this year! The students are adjusting to third grade responsibilities more every day! Filling in their student planner, taking them home, and then returning them to school the next day is a huge responsibility we require of them everyday. Please make sure you take a few minutes each night to look at their planner and sign it. Another responsibility is their daily math homework. The students are given some time in school to start their homework, but they may have nightly homework to finish the assignment. We are really stressing that third graders consistently follow the classroom and school procedures. We have discussed that our true character is reflected by what we do when we think no one is looking. It is important to show Panther Pride at all times.
One big change for third grade this year is our reading series called Wonders. We are having fun learning about new ideas and reading new stories. They do have a weekly spelling and reading test with this program. The test might not always be on a Friday. Check their planner to see when their spelling test is for that week. We are so proud of the effort they are putting into their school work.
Our field trip to the Madison Science Expo was a huge hit! The students learned so much and had a great time. Thank you to the parents who helped us on that day.
We appreciate all you do to make learning easier too!
