Grant Elementary 2nd graders in Mrs. Lingenfelter's classroom read about ways to help out in the community. The classroom took this idea from their reading unit and carried it into doing something very special, possibly even for children their own age. Students were involved in filling 50 child care packages. These packages included: coloring books, crayons, a book to read, a fun cup, and a special note created by the 2nd graders. First, the students learned how to organize and set up the classroom. Then the busy filling of bags began as students rotated through the stations to fill their bags. The students were so very proud of their finished project. The child care packages were then donated to the Pediatrics floor at Faith Regional to be used for young children in the hospital. Thank you 2nd graders for learning how to give back to our community!
