Superintendent Community Advisory Council

February 12, 2025

Recently, I have created two Superintendent Advisory Councils to enhance communication and collaboration between myself, the District and community members by providing a vehicle for open dialogue.  The goals of these councils are:

  • To enhance communication and collaboration between the Superintendent/NPS and the community.
  • To provide valuable school information to council members.
  • To open up a discussion of challenges, issues, questions and successes in the school district.
  • To ensure the Superintendent maintains a sense of the major issues and concerns within the school district and the community.

The Staff Advisory Council is composed of 19 members of NPS staff members representing a diverse range of positions throughout the district. Topics discussed at our two staff meetings included: safety measures and protocols, budget overview, staffing challenges and solutions, and the district calendar creation.

The Community Advisory Council is composed of 24 community members. The topics discussed with this group included: district safety and the selection and review process for library materials. Minutes from this meeting are below. If you are interested in joining this committee, please contact Callan Collins at callancollins@npsne.org for the application.

I look forward to continuing these meetings and the open conversation they bring. Have a great second semester!

Respectfully,

Dr. Jami Jo Thompson

Superintendent Community Advisory Council
