Sydney Krause, Special Education Paraprofessional at Bel Air Elementary, is the recipient of the NPS Award for Excellence for September 2026!

Listed below are excerpts from some of the submitted narratives of Sydney's nomination:
- Sydney consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that both students and staff feel supported. She approaches everything she does with positivity and a proactive mindset. Sydney is truly one of a kind. She is always excited to help her students succeed, and her calm demeanor helps those around her feel safe and supported. We are very fortunate to have Sydney as part of our school community.
- Sydney has a calm and supportive personality which is extremely beneficial to our LIFE students. She is supportive while also helping them gain confidence and independence.
- Sydney may be a “LIFE para” but she is an asset to the entire classroom. Once she is sure her students are settled and successfully working, she backs away and assists other students in the classroom, while always keeping a watchful eye on the LIFE student. It is evident in the student’s demeanor that they feel safe and secure with Sydney.
- Sydney is a true team player. She jumps in whenever and wherever needed and does whatever it takes to help all students feel like they belong. She is a problem solver, and is always looking for solutions that help all students feel successful. The hard work, positive attitude, and love for students that Sydney brings each day is an inspiration, we are lucky to have her!
