Tracie Chochon, School Psychologist, Norfolk Public Schools, is the recipient of the NPS Award for Excellence for November 2025.

- Tracie is the calm in the storm, and she has a HUGE heart for people! She has a tremendous way of taking worries or concerns of teachers, parents, IEP teams, or students and providing them with a positive outlook and a comprehensive list of strategies to try. Tracie is patient and consistent, and she consistently goes above and beyond for those she works with and advocates for. She is a strong team member and is INCREDIBLY knowledgeable on both special education law and best practices for serving students! Tracie is a person that makes the people around her better. It’s a pleasure to partner with her, learn from her, and watch her in action! Norfolk Public Schools is so blessed to have Tracie on the Panther Team!
- Tracie is not only knowledgeable she is open minded. She is a great brainstormer and thinks outside the box when it comes to supporting students and staff alike. She is willing to team with others so that all students can reach their full potential. So glad she chooses to be a Panther!
- It is such a privilege to work with Tracie. Tracie is a strong advocate for whoever she is working with. She has a way to find the positives in each and every person. I know I can ask Tracie any question, and she will give an honest answer. I never leave any meeting or conversation with Tracie questioning what just happened as she is so thorough in her work to make sure she is clear and understood. I am so grateful to work with Tracie!
- Tracie is one of a kind. Her knowledge and experience is a gift to the district. She is kind, patient, compassionate, and a problem solver. I appreciate how Tracie is all of those things, yet can be direct and professional with parents to deliver what can be some hard news to hear. She is REAL and GENUINE! She has a gift for making those around her feel comfortable and she can relate to so many. We are blessed to have her as a part of our Panther team!
