As we near the end of the first quarter of the 2020-2021 school year, I cannot help but be filled with a sense of gratitude. I am extremely thankful that our COVID case count has remained low, that no one in our schools has fallen seriously ill, and that our schools are still open!
This is in thanks to our amazing staff who have been working tirelessly to implement our safety procedures on top of all their normal daily duties. It is also thanks to our students, who are doing a great job following those procedures. And, it is thanks to the many parents and community members who continue to support us through this pandemic.
I don’t know what the rest of the school year will hold, but I’m hoping that our cases will remain low so that we can remain in school with on-site learning. That will require continued focus on the part of our staff, our students, and our parents/community...especially as we begin to move more events and social activities inside due to the weather. Please remain diligent in wearing your masks and practicing social distancing when at school events. These simple measures are making a huge impact in terms of our ability to keep our students in school.
Thank you for all that you have done to help us keep our schools open! By working together we can meet our mission of preparing all students to pursue their goals for the future.

¡Juntos estamos triunfando en NPS!
A medida que nos acercamos al final del primer trimestre del año escolar 2020-2021, no puedo evitar sentirme llena de gratitud. ¡Estoy muy agradecido de que nuestro recuento de casos de COVID se haya mantenido bajo, que nadie en nuestras escuelas se haya enfermado gravemente y que nuestras escuelas sigan abiertas!
Esto es gracias a nuestro increíble personal que ha estado trabajando incansablemente para implementar nuestros procedimientos de seguridad además de todas sus tareas diarias normales. También es gracias a nuestros estudiantes, que están haciendo un gran trabajo siguiendo esos procedimientos. Y es gracias a los muchos padres y miembros de la comunidad que continúan apoyándonos durante esta pandemia.
No sé qué nos deparará el resto del año escolar, pero espero que nuestros casos sigan siendo bajos para que podamos permanecer en la escuela con el aprendizaje en el lugar. Eso requerirá un enfoque continuo por parte de nuestro personal, nuestros estudiantes y nuestros padres / comunidad ... especialmente a medida que comenzamos a mover más eventos y actividades sociales al interior debido al clima. Por favor, sea diligente en usar sus máscaras y en practicar el distanciamiento social cuando esté en eventos escolares. Estas simples medidas están teniendo un gran impacto en términos de nuestra capacidad para mantener a nuestros estudiantes en la escuela.
¡Gracias por todo lo que ha hecho para ayudarnos a mantener abiertas nuestras escuelas! ¡Trabajando juntos podemos cumplir con nuestra misión de preparar a todos los estudiantes para perseguir sus metas para el futuro!
