Dear Parents,
The staff and administrators at Norfolk Public Schools are very excited for students to return to school tomorrow (8/13/2020) and Friday (8/14/2020)! We have been in close communication with the Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department (ELVPHD) throughout the summer and have worked with them to put strong safety protocols in place so that students can return safely.
The ELVPHD has recently provided us with additional information regarding symptom screening, quarantine protocols, and the use of cloth face coverings (masks) and asked us to pass this information along to you. Please review this information carefully and strongly consider requiring your child to wear a cloth face covering (mask) at school. It is one of the best ways that you can help slow the spread of COVID-19 and prevent the need for quarantine. If we move to the Orange Level on the COVID risk dial, NPS will require all students to wear masks. Until then, this decision is left to the discretion of each family.
We are very excited to start the new school year and look forward to seeing students very soon!

¡El personal y los administradores de Norfolk Public Schools están muy emocionados de que los estudiantes regresen a la escuela mañana (8/13/2020) y viernes (8/14/2020)!
Hemos estado en estrecha comunicación con el Departamento de Salud Pública en Elkhorn Logan Valley (ELVPHD) durante todo el verano y hemos trabajado con ellos para implementar protocolos de seguridad sólidos para que los estudiantes puedan regresar de manera segura.
ELVPHD nos ha proporcionado recientemente información adicional sobre la detección de síntomas, los protocolos de cuarentena y el uso de cubiertas faciales de tela (máscaras) y nos pidió que le transmitieran esta información. Por favor revise esta información cuidadosamente y considere seriamente requerir que su hijo use una máscara de tela en la escuela. Es una de las mejores formas en las que puede ayudar a retrasar la propagación de COVID-19 y prevenir la necesidad de la cuarentena . Si pasamos al nivel naranja en la marcación de riesgo de COVID, NPS requerirá que todos los estudiantes usen máscaras. Hasta entonces, esta decisión se deja al criterio de cada familia.
