Norfolk Public Schools is excited to announce the following school principal information for the 2019-2020 school year, pending board approval at the 2/11/2019 school board meeting.
- Angie Hausmann, current Principal of Jefferson Elementary School, has been selected as the 2019-2020 Principal of Lincoln Montessori Elementary School. Mrs. Hausmann has previous teaching experience with Montessori students and has a passion for the Montessori philosophy of education.
- Haeven Pedersen, current Principal of Holmes Elementary School in Lincoln, has been selected as the 2019-2020 Principal of Jefferson Elementary School. Mr. Pedersen has previous elementary principal experience with Lincoln Public Schools and Nebraska City Public Schools.
- Ryan Specht, current Assistant Principal of Norfolk Middle School, has been selected as the 2019-2020 Principal of Washington Elementary School. Mr. Specht has previous elementary experience with Lakeview Community Schools in Columbus.
Dr. Jami Jo Thompson, Superintendent of Norfolk Public Schools, told us, Angie Hausmann and Ryan Specht are both valuable members of our current Panther administrative team. I am excited to see them take on new roles as they grow professionally. I am also excited to welcome Haeven Pederson to our team. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from his previous schools.
In addition to these new principal assignments for 2019-2020, Troy Berryman will serve as the full-time principal at Grant Elementary School next school year. Currently, Mr. Berryman shares his time as principal between two school buildings, Grant Elementary School and Lincoln Montessori Elementary School. Dr. Thompson said, Troy Berryman is a great leader for our school district. Starting next year, he will be able to dedicate all his energy to the success of one school, knowing that Angie Hausmann will provide strong leadership at Lincoln Montessori Elementary School.
Dr. Thompson also told us, At Norfolk Public Schools, our mission is “to prepare all students to pursue their goals for the future”. I am confident that our school district team is strong and committed to student success!
