New year....new faces 2018! Fall 2018
The excitement is growing as our new school year approaches...and all indications are that it will be a GREAT school year, as we build upon our recent successes and achievements!
We have 41 new staff members that are excited to join our district team this year. Three of those new staff members are joining our district leadership/administration team and are introduced below:
2018-2019 Norfolk Public Schools Administration Team:
Norfolk Senior High School
- Mr. Derek Ippensen (Principal) -- NEW this year!
Mr. Ippensen comes to us from Shickley, Nebraska where he served as PK-12 Principal for 7 years. He grew up in Northeast Nebraska (West Point) and is happy to be “home.” - Mr. Erik Wilson (Assistant Principal)

- Mr. Ben Ries (Assistant Principal/NHS Activities Director)
- Mr. John Erwin (Dean of Students)
Norfolk Junior High School
- Mrs. Jennifer Robinson (Principal)
- Mr. Josh Weber (Assistant Principal) -- NEW this year!
Mr. Weber comes to us from Deshler Public Schools, where he served as 7-12 Principal for 3 years. He also grew up in Northeast Nebraska (Pierce) and is happy to be “home.” - Mr. Beau Viergutz (Assistant Principal/JH Activities Director) -- NEW this year!
Mr. Viergutz previously served as a teacher in our AFS program at NHS.
Norfolk Middle School

Washington Elementary School
- Ms. Jo Roberts (Interim Principal) -- NEW this year!
Mrs. Roberts comes to us from retirement. You may remember her as our former Grant and Lincoln Elementary Principal or as the wife of former Senior High School Principal, Steve Morton. She is excited to be back. As the saying goes...Once a Panther, Always a Panther!

- Norfolk Middle School: Tuesday, August 14th from 5:30 - 6:30 pm
