Westside Elementary in the 'Spotlight'

"Paint The Teacher" Assembly

The Westside Elementary School 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders recently finished taking the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) tests. Prior to taking the tests, each student knew their expected growth and had a goal to try to reach. The staff provided the students with an incentive to work hard and reach their goals. For every goal that a student reached, they earned a chance to vote for staff members to be painted. If they met their goal on all tests, they were able to help paint the teachers! This was a fun activity that certainly motivated the students to work hard and join the fun! All Westside Elementary students attended an assembly on April 5, in which students threw paint and teachers were painted!
